• Albino Armani Casetta Veneto Italy 2006
This is a personal favorite of mine. What many people don’t know is its made by the same family that makes Armani clothing- and they don’t rely on family name. Another rather little known fact is this particular grape, in dialect is called Foja Tonda, was on the brink of extinction until Albino Armani rediscovered it. Now these old grapevines live on to tell the story of the age-old passion… Dark magenta in color with distinct personality, the aromas of cinnamon, white pepper and musk tell of its “wild” origins. With the malolactic fermentation, the acidity is softened. Try it, you will see why this is simply one of my favorites. Bottle $48.99
