We, here at Amy’s On The Bay Restaurant & Bar, strive to provide our customers with the highest quality meals, at an affordable range of prices with personable service. We take pride in choosing wild caught seafood, mostly Pacific Rim, because we know there is such a difference in flavor, quality and texture. We pick beef from several farms because different ranches specialize in multiple products and our approach is to choose cuts they produce best. Our gourmet hamburgers are all natural, Angus beef patties. Our burgers are such high quality, they are free of hormones, antibiotics and unhealthy “fillers”, so much so you can order your hamburger like you order your steak. If you wish, we offer a vegetarian burger option or grilled chicken substitutions. In addition, we have gluten-free options that are clearly marked on our menu for your convenience. We make all our soups, sauces and dressings in house from scratch. The benefit to our labor-intensive menu is the freshness of flavor, which is free from preservatives and additives. It’s healthier and we know exactly what product is in every dish! We love utilizing our Fresh Sheet, which offers our chefs the opportunity and freedom to showcase fresh, specialty items and to show off new cooking techniques. In addition, it encourages our chefs to exercise creativity with items that have a shorter prime season. We have a beautiful lounge for you to enjoy with a nice array of beers on tap or in bottles, an extensive wine list and a wide selection of spirits. Our view of Sinclair Inlet and Bremerton is especially spectacular when our patio is open and you can enjoy dining and watching the ferry on the water.
Awards & Recognition for Amy’s
Amy’s On The Bay was named 1st place for “Best Restaurant” 2014 by the Westsound Home & Garden Magazine, which covers Gig Harbor to Bainbridge Island! The readers in South Kitsap via the Port Orchard Independent city newspaper have also awarded us 1st place for “Best Seafood” six consecutive years and named 1st or 2nd place for “Best Steak”. In addition, we were also top three for “Most Romantic Spot” and “Best Hamburgers”. Amy’s On The Bay Restaurant & Bar was honored by the powerful Association of Washington Business’ “Community Service Award” in 2013. Owner, Amy Igloi Creed was chosen as one of YWCA’s Women of Achievement in 2012. In 2010, Amy’s On The Bay was named Business Associate of the Year by South Kitsap Fire & Rescue. One of Amy’s most proud moments was being chosen as one of three in the nation to be awarded the National Restaurant Association’s “American Dream Award” in 2009. Amy Igloi Creed got an honorable mention when she graduated from the University of Washington with her Business Administration Bachelors Degree. In 2008, the Washington Restaurant Association awarded Amy’s the Cornerstone Humanitarian Award. Amy also received the Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty award which recognizes 40 “outstanding young business leaders on the Kitsap Peninsula” for the contributions they have made within their fields.
Our Involvement In The Community
Amy’s On The Bay Restaurant & Bar has been actively involved in Port Orchard and Kitsap County since the day we opened in April 2006. We take pride in building community partnerships like partnering with Kitsap Bank for our annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation benefit dinner, being a corporate sponsor for Relay for Life, co-sponsoring the Festival of Chimes & Lights, putting on the annual Pancake Breakfast for South Kitsap Helpline and hosting “take-overs” for various nonprofits and struggling families. We are members of the Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce, Puget Sound Naval Base Association, Port Orchard Bay Street Association, Washington Restaurant Association, Association of Washington Business and the National Restaurant Association. Amy’s has a number of projects we sponsor because we believe businesses have an obligation to give back to communities.
How We Volunteer & Give Back To Our Community
In addition to cash donations, product contributions, gift certificates, donation of paid-employee time, Amy’s also makes time to serve on committees and strives to make a difference in our community. Amy Igloi Creed is currently serving as a board member on the Association of Washington Business Board of Directors, Washington Restaurant Association Board of Directors and the WRA’s MSC Committee, Olympic College Culinary Arts Advisory Board, Human Touch Board of Directors and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge Advisory Board. She has served in the past on the South Kitsap Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, City of Port Orchard Lodging Tax Committee, a Government Affairs Ambassador for Senator (now Congressman) Derek Kilmer, Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors including serving as Vice President, Military Affairs Chair and a number of committees for local events.
How Amy’s Got Started
Amy’s On The Bay Restaurant & Bar opened for business in April 2006. Amy’s is run by Restaurateur/Owner Amy Igloi Creed, her husband Jeremy Creed and Executive Chef Benjamin Downey, with the support of Sous Chef Michael Frey, Assistant Manager Karla Strittmatter and Front of House Supervisor Lorie Meyers. It has been a successful adventure since the day we opened our doors and we look forward to continued growth and success. We believe one of the reasons for our success is our dedicated staff, who makes up the heart and soul of Amy’s. We consistently involve our employees in our decision making so we can always be working towards improvement and provide a better dining experience for everyone.
Ways We Reduce Our Carbon Footprint
We have a number of ways we work to reduce our carbon footprint. We recycle our glass, plastic, cardboard and other paper products. We use to-go boxes with 100% recycled paper. We contract with a company that takes our waste cooking oil and processes it into clean burning biodiesel. We choose Ecolab, whose business model is focused on sustainability and their total impact operations approach is beyond green- to conserve resources, improve safety and reduce waste. We do these things because we care and encourage others to find ways they can help make our planet a better place to live.
